Dr. Hammontree is a surgeon of urology and has been in practice for over 30 years. Dr. Hammontree is a graduate of Lipscomb University and a native of Nashville. He obtained his medical degree in 1988 from The University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Hammontree went on to complete an internship and residency in urology at the University of Tennessee, Memphis.

Dr. Hammontree initially spent 8 years in private practice. During this period he led in introducing laparoscopic urologic surgery to Alabama. He taught courses for other urologists and gynecologists in laparoscopic pelvic floor reconstruction. He has proctored numerous others in laparoscopic kidney surgery and has performed over 3,000 complex laparoscopic procedures.
