Scott Appell, M.D., specializes in total joint replacements such as anterior hip replacements, shoulder surgical intervention and arthroscopy of the shoulder and knee. Dr. Appell is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and focuses his practice on performing total and partial revisions involving hardware. Dr. Appell is highly committed to facilitating optimal outcomes for those patients who require either knee or hip replacement procedures. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and sciences from The University of Florida, Dr. Appell continued his education at The University of Florida Medical School where he ranked in the top percentile of his class. Dr. Appell then attended The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine where he completed his general surgery internship, orthopedic surgery residency, and microvascular surgery residency.
